The All-Long Island showdown in the NLF National Championship 2026 title game was as good as advertised.
Backed by two goals and two assists from NLF No. 18 ’26 Nick Testa (Saint Andrew’s, Fla.) and a pair of goals from NLF No. 11 ’26 Hansen Peck (Lawrenceville, N.J.)Team 91 Long Island Storm turned the tables on rival Long Island Express Channy with an 11-6 win for its first NLF national championship.
Jack Sheridan (Delbarton, N.J.) and Drew Maloney (Buford, Ga.) also each tallied twice for the newly-minted champions. NLF No. 2 ’26 Dylan Faison (Saint Andrew’s, Fla. / Notre Dame football), LSM Jake Ivancevic (Benjamin School, Fla.) and midfielder Anthony Mancaruso (St. Anthony’s, N.Y.) all scored once in the win. Ivancevic earned tournament MVP honors.
“Point blank, we just wanted more,” Maloney told USA Lacrosse Magazine’s Dylan Butler. “We’re more gritty. All these boys, we just wanted it. That’s all. We’ve been waiting for this.”
“It was surreal. You can’t relive that,” Faison added. “That’s a moment no one gets to experience and especially those boys.”
NLF No. 29 ’26 John Balsamo (Chaminade, N.Y.) paced Express with a pair of goals. NLF No. 16 ’26 Jake Johnston (St. Anthony’s, N.Y.) doled out a pair of assists to go with a goal. Dylan Harrigan (St. Anthony’s, N.Y.), NLF No. 5 ’26 James Gillis (Chaminade, N.Y.) and Brody Waxer (Syosset, N.Y.) all tallied once for Express.
