Haverford School‘s season got off to a surprising start when the presumed Inter-Ac favorites and NLFRankings.com’s No. 7 team in the preseason rankings fell to Loyola Blakefield (Md.).

The Fords got back on the wagon with a win over Bullis (Md.), and Tuesday, they showed why they were so highly thought of early on. Senior Harvard commit Teddy Malone led the charge with four goals and two assists, NLF No. 43 junior Wills Burt (Virginia) added three goals and two assists and five-star sophomore Ben McCarthy was a pristine 17-for-19 at the faceoff stripe.

Ryan Williamson (Laxachusetts / Dartmouth) stopped 11 shots for the Arrows (0-1), while Charlie Hoffman tallied twice and ’22 pole PJ McKeigue (Laxachusetts / Penn) collected five ground balls.
