The game lived up to the hype.

Two of the best teams in the country – also two of the National Lacrosse Federation‘s founding clubs – battled their way through a stacked bracket in the 2025 division at the NLF Summer Kickoff.

It was fitting, too, that Laxachusetts and Team 91 Long Island Shock  needed bonus lacrosse to determine a champion. Boston’s finest came through in the extra frame when Tuck Gilbane (Noble and Greenough, Mass.) snatched up a loose ball and unloaded a picture-perfect low-to-high laser into the back of the net for the 7-6 Laxachusetts win.

Laxachusetts came into the summer ranked as the No. 6 team in the preseason NLF ’25 team rankings. Team 91 LI was just behind them at No. 7.

Laxachusetts took out NLF No. 1 Big 4 HHH in the semifinals, while Team 91 LI upended rival and NLF No. 4 Long Island Express in the semis. CLICK HERE to see the full 2025 team rankings.
