The Annapolis Hawks had their backs against the wall early against Leading Edge in the class of 2028 NLF National Championship game.
Undaunted, the Hawks got to work. It’s also a good thing that they had Gavin Carpenter. The midfielder erupted for five goals and three assists as the Hawks capped a comeback with a 10-7 win.
Wyatt Hicks bagged four goals for the newly-minted champions, including a third-quarter natural hat trick that tied the game for the Hawks. Brooks Bennett dished out a trio of helpers for the Hawks.
Chris Davies led Leading Edge, which got goals from seven players, with a goal and an assist. Goalies Seamus Gorman and Zeller Clark Schoeb each stopped three shots.
