As expected, the rematch of last year’s MIAA semifinal thriller at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium between McDonogh (Md.) and Boys’ Latin (Md.) went down to the wire.

The Eagles didn’t need to beat the buzzer this time. They just needed to hold on just long enough. Newly-minted NLF class of 2025 sophomore Brendan Millon (Team 91 Maryland) fired home five goals and dished out two assists to help McDonogh topple the Lakers, 11-10.

“Props to BL for not sitting back, taking that 9-2 deficit and shutting down. But we really battled there,” Millon told Glenn Graham of the Baltimore Sun. “We’ve shown that we can get punched in the face and respond and I’m real happy we were able to tough it out and pull it out in the end.”

McDonogh senior Zach Hayashi (Crabs) dominated the faceoff stripe. The Navy-bound senior muscled his way to 17 victories in 23 attempts,
